Inter-Tel 500 System FAQs


Record Your Personal Greeting:
This is the greeting your callers will hear when they reach your Voice Mail.
  1. Press 4 for Personal Options
  2. Press 1 for Greetings
  3. Press 1 for your Primary Greeting
  4. RECORD your Greeting. When finished recording, Press #
  5. Press # again to Accept your recorded greeting,
  6. OR, Follow the voice prompts 1 to replay, and/or 3 to re-record. A voice prompt "greeting saved" confirms your active greeting.
  7. Hang up.

Retrieving Messages When Your Msg Key Is Lit:
  1. Pick up the handset (or to use the speakerphone, Press SPKR key)
  2. Press the Red flashing MSG Key
  3. Enter your Password then press #

Entering Your Mailbox When The Msg Light Is Not Lit:
  1. Press the Voice Mail Key or dial x275
  2. Press * when the greeting starts
  3. Enter your mailbox number
  4. Enter your password
  5. Press #

Check Your Voice Mail Messages From An Outside Location:
  1. Call your Main Number or Direct Line or Backdoor Number
  2. Once you hear any voice mail/automated greeting, PRESS *
  3. Follow the prompts:
    Enter your mailbox number, enter your password and press #
    Press 1 to hear new messages, 2 to leave a message and 3 to listen to saved messages

Check For Deleted Messages and Un-heard Sent Messages:
  1. Take the steps to get in your mailbox
  2. Press 5 (Message Options) Follow the prompts.
  3. The system saves deleted messages for only 24 hours.

Forward a Copy of a Message to Another Mailbox:
  1. After listening to the message
  2. Press the 3 Key
  3. Enter the destination mailbox
  4. Press the Pound Key (#) to confirm entry
  5. Record an introduction if desired and press # to deliver the message.
  6. You may save or delete the original message in your mailbox.

Change The Time:
Inter-Tel Axxent, Axxess & 5000
  1. On any phone with Admin Features
  2. Handset in cradle and phone idle
  3. Dial 9800
  4. Follow prompts on LCD screen
IMX
  1. On Extension 100
  2. Handset in Cradle and phone idle
  3. Press SPCL 021
  4. Dial time using 4 digits
    (0800 = 8:00)
  5. Press * for AM or # for PM
  6. Dial month day and year
    MM/DD/YYY = 10/28/2008
  7. Press # key for Monday
    Or # key until correct day is displayed
  8. Press SPKR
SLS
  1. On Extension 10
  2. Handset in Cradle and phone idle
  3. Press SPCL 021
  4. Dial time using 4 digits
    (0800 = 8:00)
  5. Press * for AM or # for PM
  6. Dial month day and year
    MM/DD/YYY = 10/28/2008
  7. Press # key for Monday
  8. Or # key until correct day is displayed
  9. Press SPKR
IVX 500 Voice Mail
  1. From any phone dial 236
  2. *199
  3. 9999# (or just #)
  4. 9
  5. Press 5 from main menu
  6. Follow instructions
  7. Hang up or press SPKR when complete
GLX PLUS
  1. On each Keyset press SPCL 41
  2. Enter two digits for the hour and two digits for minutes
  3. Lift and replace the handset

Initiating a Conference Call:
Note: It doesn't matter who initiates the first call, you can be in the middle of a call, or receive an outside call or in-house intercom call.
  1. While you are connected to the First caller, press your CNF button.
    this will put the caller on conference hold.
  2. Dial an extension or press outgoing and call another contact.
  3. When you're connected to the second caller, press the CNF button.
    This will put the caller on conference hold.
  4. Dial an extension or press outgoing and call another contact.
  5. When you're connected to the Third caller, press the CNF button twice.
    (Once to put them in conf. hold and a second time connects all calls) this will connect all 4 parties.
  6. If you want to break up the conference call press the CNF key and HOLD to separate all four callers.
