Inter-Tel 500 System FAQs
Record Your Personal Greeting:
This is the greeting your callers will hear when they reach your Voice Mail.
- Press 4 for Personal Options
- Press 1 for Greetings
- Press 1 for your Primary Greeting
- RECORD your Greeting. When finished recording, Press #
- Press # again to Accept your recorded greeting,
- OR, Follow the voice prompts 1 to replay, and/or 3 to re-record. A voice prompt "greeting saved" confirms your active greeting.
- Hang up.
Retrieving Messages When Your Msg Key Is Lit:
- Pick up the handset (or to use the speakerphone, Press SPKR key)
- Press the Red flashing MSG Key
- Enter your Password then press #
Entering Your Mailbox When The Msg Light Is Not Lit:
- Press the Voice Mail Key or dial x275
- Press * when the greeting starts
- Enter your mailbox number
- Enter your password
- Press #
Check Your Voice Mail Messages From An Outside Location:
- Call your Main Number or Direct Line or Backdoor Number
- Once you hear any voice mail/automated greeting, PRESS *
- Follow the prompts:
Enter your mailbox number, enter your password and press #
Press 1 to hear new messages, 2 to leave a message and 3 to listen to saved messages
Check For Deleted Messages and Un-heard Sent Messages:
- Take the steps to get in your mailbox
- Press 5 (Message Options) Follow the prompts.
- The system saves deleted messages for only 24 hours.
Forward a Copy of a Message to Another Mailbox:
- After listening to the message
- Press the 3 Key
- Enter the destination mailbox
- Press the Pound Key (#) to confirm entry
- Record an introduction if desired and press # to deliver the message.
- You may save or delete the original message in your mailbox.
Change The Time:

- On any phone with Admin Features
- Handset in cradle and phone idle
- Dial 9800
- Follow prompts on LCD screen

- On Extension 100
- Handset in Cradle and phone idle
- Press SPCL 021
- Dial time using 4 digits
(0800 = 8:00)
- Press * for AM or # for PM
- Dial month day and year
MM/DD/YYY = 10/28/2008
- Press # key for Monday
Or # key until correct day is displayed
- Press SPKR
SLS
- On Extension 10
- Handset in Cradle and phone idle
- Press SPCL 021
- Dial time using 4 digits
(0800 = 8:00)
- Press * for AM or # for PM
- Dial month day and year

IVX 500 Voice Mail
- From any phone dial 236
- *199
- 9999# (or just #)

- Press 5 from main menu
- Follow instructions
- Hang up or press SPKR when complete
GLX PLUS
- On each Keyset press SPCL 41
- Enter two digits for the hour and two digits for minutes
- Lift and replace the handset
Initiating a Conference Call:
Note: It doesn't matter who initiates the first call, you can be in the middle of a call, or receive an outside call or in-house intercom call.
- While you are connected to the First caller, press your CNF button.
this will put the caller on conference hold.
- Dial an extension or press outgoing and call another contact.
- When you're connected to the second caller, press the CNF button.
This will put the caller on conference hold.
- Dial an extension or press outgoing and call another contact.
- When you're connected to the Third caller, press the CNF button twice.
(Once to put them in conf. hold and a second time connects all calls) this will connect all 4 parties.
- If you want to break up the conference call press the CNF key and HOLD to separate all four callers.
